The crux of the matter: living a life in the darkest hour
We are in turmoil. We shouldn’t deny it. We are stressed out. As a matter of fact, pollster Social Weather Stations (2020) found out that 9 out of 10 Filipinos are stressed with coronavirus pandemic. And this has dominoed into an economic and psychological crisis. Some lost their jobs. Some still have jobs but are not receiving salary – at least in the meantime.
In the survey, Mindanao scored 55% as stressed. Not much, right? Yet still a number. This is a narrative we need to look into. We, therefore, need a deep sense of shared destiny. This is what we have become. How do we see ourselves once we see the limelight again?
Anyhow, we strive. We are strong. We have gone out of our comfort zones. We have learned the art selling online. We have finally realized that PM is really the key. What I’m saying is – we have strengthened our ability to communicate – for the sake of living.
I hope I have made myself relevant in the previous paragraphs. Now, let me tell you my story. I am Lord Vincent Van Mendoza. I fell in love with digital marketing when this global pandemic hit us. I did not have a job prior to it – why would I even be sad? Here’s the catch: I was on my winning ride in the events industry when all of a sudden – a global tremor came. My whole turned upside down.
On the brighter side, I discovered an advantage amidst a very disadvantaging situation. I happened to encounter digital marketing (content marketing, specifically). Believe it or not – it’s a great opportunity everyone should give a try. Fast forward to today – I’ve got a bunch of clients already! This is but one of the many things COVID-19 taught me.
Just see the good in everything. We can get through this. We are resilient. We are creative. We are Mindanaoans.
